2010 Calendar of Hope

  • Oct. 10th, 2009 at 9:47 AM

I'm so excited to announce the 2010 Calendar of Life for Breast Cancer Research. As a survivor myself, this means a lot to me.
Thanks to research mine was caught early and my treatment was minimal.
Calendars may be purchased at KnitPink.com.
I also support Love/Avon Army of Women.
This group doesn't want your money but wants "information".
This group creates surveys to get information on all backgrounds, locations, race, etc.
Women who have never had breast cancer are also important to this research.
The Army of Women wants to know about you too.
The goal of Army of Women is to find what causes breast cancer.
We've made great advances in early detection and cure but not as much as the cause.
Once we find out the cause, we will be able to really fight.
Remember when pink was just a color and a ribbon was just something to tie your hair? It should be that way again!

Tata Tawashi

Here is a neat little pot scrubber to remind you to get your yearly mammogram!

You can find the pattern in the Calendar of Hope available from KnitPink
All proceeds from the calendar go to breast cancer research.
The calendar includes 13 dishcloth/tawashi patterns (12 never-before-published) that you can knit for yourself, as gifts or charity.
This particular pattern was designed by Rhonda White of Knitting Knonsense.

Calendar of Hope

The Dishcloth Designers Yahoo Group has put together a calendar with 13 dishcloth and tawashi(check out the Tata Tawashi by Rhonda White below) patterns. We did this to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. The calendars are downloadable and being sold by KnitPink who donates all the proceeds to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. We chose KnitPink because she will take care of promoting and selling the calendars and many of our designers are Canadian.

I have a cloth that was designed from one of the patterns in The Art of Knitting 1897. I call it Ribbons of Hope.

The Art of Knitting Calendar

I have taken the first 12 stitches from The Art of Knitting 1897 and created a 2008 Calendar. The patterns have been rewritten in modern-day knitting terminology and charted. If you would like to purchase the calendar, you can find it on Lulu.com.
As always, you can also download the charts and patterns on my website.
